The Center Assistant position at our Kumon center in Ridgefield Park, NJ, is designed to support the Company Center Instructor and Assistant Instructors in various instructional and management tasks. This part-time role is essential for maintaining the smooth operation of the center and ensuring that students receive the highest quality of educational support. The Center Assistant will work closely with younger or new Kumon students, utilizing the Kumon Method to provide effective instruction and foster proper study habits. Responsibilities will vary based on the needs of the center and will include grading student work, assisting with front desk operations, and general administrative tasks. In the Early Learner and Primary Instruction segment, the Center Assistant will work efficiently with one or two students at a time, ensuring that they are developing the necessary skills and habits for success. This includes individualizing strategies for student development based on their goals and ongoing assessments of their skills. The Assistant will collaborate with the Instructor to understand lesson plans and goals, ensuring that instruction is tailored to each student's needs. Grading responsibilities include grading student classwork and homework, ensuring that all work is completed and corrected to a high standard. The Assistant will also assess students' oral reading abilities and provide constructive feedback. Communication with students and parents is crucial, and the Assistant will handle inquiries and concerns professionally and promptly. General responsibilities encompass relaying messages and parental concerns to the Instructor, preparing student files, and assisting with marketing initiatives and retention events. The Center Assistant will also support customer service issues as they arise, contributing to a positive and productive learning environment.
