About the position
The Center Director for the Chicopee Early Education and Care Center is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the center, which serves children and families in the community. This role includes staff supervision, curriculum development, and fostering parent involvement, ensuring that the center meets the educational and developmental needs of children in accordance with agency policies and regulations. The position offers an opportunity for professional growth within a respected community action agency.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and develop staff members at the Early Education and Care Center.
- Develop, implement, and monitor the educational curriculum for the Child Care Program.
- Ensure the program meets the cognitive, social, emotional, and health needs of each child.
- Manage the daily operations of the center with an enrollment of less than forty children.
- Oversee the operations of the Youth Program with an enrollment of less than twenty-five children.
- Foster parent involvement and communication regarding the program and children's development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- EEC Director 1 Certification is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with NAEYC accreditation standards.
