About the position

The Center Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Early Head Start Program, ensuring compliance with performance standards and state regulations, and implementing human resources policies for center staff. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to supporting the development of infants, toddlers, and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and supervise all aspects of the Early Head Start Program operations.
  • Collaborate with the EHS Director, Program Managers, teachers, and center staff to ensure compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and State Child Care licensing requirements.
  • Implement human resources policies and procedures applicable to center staff.
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of program goals and objectives.
  • Supervise and evaluate assigned center staff.
  • Conduct daily observations of classrooms and ensure a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Coordinate daily classroom coverage based on staff ratios.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety guidelines, including staff-child ratios and daily attendance.
  • Implement parent engagement activities and maintain communication with parents regarding child needs.
  • Develop training and professional development plans for center staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or Family and Human Development or equivalent in a related field.
  • Three plus years' experience in an administrative capacity in an educational setting with supervisory experience.
  • Experience in Human Resources management and operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of childcare licensing and CACFP guidelines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Education Curriculum & Instruction or Administrator's Certification.
  • Five plus years' experience in educational administration with supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and Child Care Minimum Standards.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).
