The Center Operations Coordinator position at the USO is a vital role that encompasses a wide range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of one or more Centers. This position is designed to deliver valuable, fun, and creative programs, events, and activities for military personnel and their families. The Coordinator will play a key role in creating and maintaining a clean, warm, inviting, and friendly environment for troops, which is essential for fostering a sense of community and support. The role may also involve assisting with volunteer management and social media communications, as well as handling light administrative and cash-handling tasks. In this position, the Coordinator will meet and welcome guests, orienting them to the Center's offerings, amenities, tours, classes, programs, and services. Providing high-quality and friendly customer service is paramount, as the Coordinator will serve as a knowledgeable resource for troops, offering relevant travel advice and resolving complaints. The role also includes assisting with operational procedures such as opening and closing the Center, ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols, and maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of the facilities and equipment. The Coordinator will help plan and execute programs, activities, and events both on and off U.S. military installations, ensuring that there is sufficient volunteer coverage and supplies. They will also be responsible for communicating Center operations and programs to create awareness, which may involve creating promotional materials and managing the Center's social media presence. Additionally, the Coordinator will handle incoming calls, emails, and maintain reports, files, and databases. Training and guiding volunteers may also be part of the role, along with processing cash or credit card sales as needed. The position may require operating a USO or personal motor vehicle and performing other duties as assigned by senior leaders.
