About the position

The Central Banking Operations Specialist at AppleOne is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in addressing various moderately complex operational issues for both internal and external customers. This role may serve as an escalation point for operational challenges, requiring frequent communication with other departments and branch employees to effectively resolve issues. The specialist is expected to provide excellent client service, ensuring that a professional image of the Bank is maintained at all times. This includes assisting employees, clients, and vendors by answering inquiries related to accounts, procedures, and services, as well as providing support for clients via phone communication. In addition to customer service responsibilities, the specialist may be involved in processing a variety of banking operations tasks. These tasks include handling Regulation E claims, merchant disputes, collection items, ordering cash and debit cards, ATM balancing, managing return mail, legal processes, chargebacks, department certifications, CDARS, mobile deposits, wire transfers, NSF items, non-post items, stop payments, and reviewing remote deposits. The role may also involve processing online account opening submissions, which includes reviewing risk levels and coordinating with management and internal departments such as BSA and Compliance to make decisions regarding onboarding. The position requires a strong commitment to ethical practices and integrity, as well as the ability to accept responsibility for one's actions. Regular attendance and adherence to scheduled hours are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to various moderately complex operational issues for internal and/or external customers.
  • Act as an escalation point for operational challenges.
  • Communicate frequently with other departments and branch employees to resolve issues.
  • Assist in identifying operational improvements.
  • Provide excellent client service to both internal and external clients.
  • Maintain a professional image of the Bank internally and externally.
  • Assist employees, clients, and vendors by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services.
  • Provide support for clients via phone communication.
  • Process Regulation E claims, merchant disputes, collection items, and order cash and debit cards.
  • Manage ATM balancing, return mail, legal processes, chargebacks, and department certifications.
  • Handle CDARS, mobile deposits, wire transfers, NSF items, non-post items, and stop payments.
  • Balance and review remote deposits and process check and ACH returns.
  • Process online account opening submissions, reviewing risk levels, and coordinating with management and internal departments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Bank Operations experience in a bank or credit union.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and 10-key required.
  • Ability to work ethically and with integrity; uphold organizational values; accept responsibility for own actions.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and work scheduled hours.
