About the position

Central Demand Planner at FormFactor, Inc. is a pivotal role responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing demand forecasts to support the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process. This position requires close collaboration with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure that accurate and timely demand data is available for effective planning and decision-making. In a rapidly evolving technology landscape, the Central Demand Planner will utilize advanced statistical models and forecasting software to predict future demand, ensuring that manufacturing has the necessary details to produce build and capacity plans. The role also involves collaborating with Product and Marketing teams to develop demand forecasts for new product launches, promotional activities, and product end-of-life scenarios, ensuring that engineering capacity needs are accurately forecasted. The Central Demand Planner will analyze sales data, market trends, and customer information to identify patterns that may impact demand. This includes monitoring forecast accuracy and adjusting models to improve reliability, as well as owning and maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs) related to forecast accuracy. Supporting the SIOP process is a critical aspect of this role, where the planner will provide accurate demand forecasts and insights, contribute to the Demand Review meetings, and participate in SIOP meetings to help develop integrated plans and conduct scenario analysis. Collaboration is key, as the Central Demand Planner will work closely with various teams to gather relevant information for demand planning. This includes participating in cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment of demand forecasts with overall business plans. Additionally, the role involves inventory optimization, where the planner will collaborate with supply chain planners to optimize stock levels, minimize excess inventory, and develop strategies to reduce stockouts while improving service levels. Reporting and communication are also essential components of this position. The Central Demand Planner will prepare and present demand forecasts and analysis reports to senior management and other stakeholders, effectively communicating forecast changes and their impact on supply chain operations. Continuous improvement is encouraged, with the expectation to identify and implement best practices in demand planning while staying updated on industry trends and advancements in forecasting techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts based on statistical analysis of historical data, market trends, and customer insights.
  • Utilize advanced statistical models and forecasting software to predict future demand.
  • Provide manufacturing with the level of detail needed to produce build and capacity plans.
  • Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to develop demand forecasts for new product launches, promotional activities, and product end of life.
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer information to identify patterns and trends that may impact demand.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and adjust models and methods to improve reliability.
  • Own and maintain forecast accuracy KPIs.
  • Support the SIOP process by providing accurate and timely demand forecasts and insights, owning the content creation for the Demand Review meeting.
  • Participate in SIOP meetings and contribute to the development of integrated plans and supporting scenario analysis.
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, production, and supply chain teams to gather relevant information for demand planning.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment of demand forecasts with business plans.
  • Collaborate with supply chain planners to optimize stock levels and minimize excess inventory to meet demand forecasts and NPI builds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Statistics, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Experience with demand planning software and statistical forecasting techniques.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and forecasting.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies that align with business objectives and improve demand planning processes.
  • Strong understanding of customer needs and market dynamics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in demand planning and forecasting tools (e.g., SAP APO, Oracle Demantra, Microsoft Excel).
