Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals, and priorities.
  • Answers questions and responds to requests from schools and the general public; resolves issues or refers requests as appropriate.
  • Performs routine clerical functions, producing and responding to correspondence, research, reports, and materials needed for efficient office operations.
  • Prepares and submits information and/or recommendations for Board agenda as assigned.
  • Maintains accurate electronic and non-electronic filing systems for reports, minutes, correspondence, and confidential records.
  • Obtains, gathers, organizes, and prepares pertinent data and information for presentation as needed.
  • Uses office technology/software to complete job responsibilities as assigned.
  • Communicates effectively using various means such as telephones, electronic mail, and postal services.
  • Arranges for technical support and effective operation of office technology and machines as assigned.
  • Attends and participates in meetings as directed.
  • Maintains appropriate confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.
  • Demonstrates initiative in identifying potential problems and opportunities for improvement.
  • Reports potential problems or unusual events to appropriate personnel.
  • Responds to inquiries and concerns in a timely and positive manner.
  • Maintains and submits reports, records, and correspondence accurately and on time.
  • Properly uses and cares for equipment and material resources of the school system.
  • Uses effective collaboration skills to work as a productive team member.
  • Serves on school system committees and representative groups as required.
  • Adheres to school system rules and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Reports absences and takes leave in accordance with Board policies.
  • Performs any other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior clerical experience preferred.
  • Ability to meet suitability criteria for employment under the Alabama Child Protection Act.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures, filing, and document preparation.
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills for communication and collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks accurately.
  • Ability to use technology for communication and data management.
  • Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job responsibilities.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with a salary range of $41,151 - $51,681 per year.
