About the position

The Pharmacy Tech II - Central Specialty & Mail Order at Baptist Health is responsible for medication fulfillment for centralized specialty and home delivery prescriptions. This role involves performing nonsterile compounding, maintaining compliance with packaging requirements, and assisting in inventory management. The position emphasizes quality, safety, and adherence to established policies and procedures while supporting the pharmacy team and engaging in personal development.

Responsibilities

• Perform all tasks associated with medication fulfillment for centralized specialty and home delivery prescriptions as permitted by state regulatory and accrediting agencies.
• Perform nonsterile compounding per current guidelines and as permitted by state law under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Maintain compliance with cold chain and room temperature prescription packaging requirements based on seasonal pack-out changes.
• Demonstrate commitment to the quality, philosophy, and values of Baptist Health by maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures, organizational objectives, process improvement, and safety standards.
• Engage in personal development to stay updated with pharmacy trends related to role and practice setting.
• Assist in inventory management processes including order review, performing compliant receiving, inventory returns, restocking shelves, and physical inventory preparation.
• Assist in the maintenance of pharmacy automation systems pursuant to state & federal regulations and BH policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with onsite call center team to coordinate services and resolve prescription issues.
• Assist in training new staff and contribute to team meetings.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy before or on hire.
• Nationally certified as a pharmacy technician.
• Previous retail, mail order, and/or central pharmacy work experience preferred.
