About the position

The Central Sterile Technician - Case Cart Picker is responsible for the operations of sterile processing under the supervision of the Senior Technician or Department Manager. This role involves ensuring the cleanliness and readiness of surgical instruments and equipment, adhering to safety and sterilization protocols, and maintaining accurate documentation of processes.

Responsibilities

• Carries out Standard Precautions at all times.
• Performs all phases of decontamination of instruments, carts, and equipment.
• Operates the washer-decontaminator, cart wash, and steam gun.
• Inspects and assembles instruments for various departments including OR, CTOR, Cath lab, EP lab, X-ray, ER, and Sleep lab.
• Operates sterilizers in the department (STEAM, ETO, and STERRAD).
• Adheres to proper wrapping, labeling, and logging on appropriate log sheets.
• Maintains accurate logs on all sterilizers.
• Operates heat sealer, labeling gun, and drying cabinet.
• Accurately documents results of sterilization processes.
• Adheres to proper delinting, folding, and assembling of reusable linen.
• Restocks hemodialysis carts, minor procedure carts, and prisma carts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year previous related experience is preferred.
• CS Tech Certification is preferred.
