The Central Sterile Technician PRN at HCA Florida Northside Hospital plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients by meticulously cleaning, decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, and storing reusable surgical instruments. This position is essential for providing all necessary instruments for surgeries and other hospital departments, contributing to the highest standard of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, assemble, and test general and specialty instrumentation for proper functioning.
• Operate and maintain all sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves and ultrasonic washers.
• Prepare, assemble, and package all instruments for surgery and other hospital departments.
• Pull customized case cart sheets for all surgical procedures and prepare case carts.
• Inventory, maintain, and supply OR storage areas and specialty lockers.
• Audit trays for decontamination, washing, assembly, sterilization, and instrument count sheets.
• Create and maintain accurate records regarding inventories and sterilization processes.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of sterilization supplies, equipment, and instruments.
• 1-2 years of previous experience strongly preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge.
