About the position

The Applications Analyst II, IT Revenue Cycle is a vital role within the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, focusing on the administration, configuration, deployment, and support of revenue cycle information systems, particularly those related to Scheduling and Registration using Oracle Cerner solutions. This position is responsible for leading projects related to revenue cycle information systems, collaborating closely with revenue cycle operations and clinical applications to gather, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for these applications. The role requires a strong emphasis on workflow analysis and software design solutions to enable business operations to meet their objectives effectively. In this position, the Applications Analyst II will analyze existing revenue cycle applications and workflows to identify opportunities for enhancement and optimization. This involves collaborating with end-users and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. The analyst will design, develop, and implement software solutions that address business needs and improve the efficiency of the revenue cycle. Thorough testing and validation of system enhancements will be conducted to ensure quality and reliability. Ongoing support and maintenance for revenue cycle applications are also key responsibilities. This includes troubleshooting, issue resolution, and performance monitoring, as well as responding promptly to user inquiries and technical issues. The analyst will work with vendors and internal IT teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues as necessary, and will implement system upgrades and patches in coordination with IT infrastructure teams to minimize disruption to operations. Documentation and training are critical components of this role. The Applications Analyst II will assist in creating comprehensive documentation, including user guides, technical specifications, and process workflows, to support system usage and maintenance. Additionally, conducting training sessions and workshops for end-users will promote efficient utilization of revenue cycle applications and tools. Staying informed about industry best practices and emerging technologies in revenue cycle management is essential, as the analyst will share knowledge and insights with the team. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Revenue Cycle Operations, Quality Control & Education, Finance, and other stakeholders, is necessary to align system capabilities with business objectives and regulatory requirements. The analyst will participate in project teams and meetings to represent the IT Revenue Cycle perspective, contributing insights and recommendations for system improvements and strategic initiatives. The role also involves developing project plans with timelines, milestones, defined roles and responsibilities, and communication plans, while performing all other duties assigned in the best interest of Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in applications analysis, software development, or related IT roles, preferably in healthcare or revenue cycle management.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Cerner Millennium revenue cycle solutions in a technical capacity (now Oracle Health).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex systems, identify issues, and propose effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new tools and Healthcare Information Systems to be identified as part of SRALab's future core applications toolset.
  • Intermediate knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle processes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, Patient Access, Charge Services, Patient Accounting).
  • Intermediate knowledge of Cerner Command Language (CCL).
  • Intermediate knowledge of industry standards that relate to Patient Access, Charge Services, and/or Patient Accounting.
  • Intermediate knowledge of scheduling and registration configuration applications (schtools.exe, Bedrock.exe, DCPTools.exe, PMDBTools.exe, RevenueCycleMaintenance, Olympus).
