About the position

The Cerner Revenue Cycle System Analyst (Charge Specialist) plays a crucial role in supporting and enhancing the Revenue Cycle solutions portfolio. This position involves assessing, planning, developing, and implementing various business solutions related to Scheduling, Registration, Charge Services, Health Information Management, Patient Accounting, and Finance. The analyst will work closely with users and IT personnel to ensure reliable performance of production systems and provide ongoing support.

Responsibilities

  • Assists users and IT personnel with training and development of user documentation.
  • Develops system design, including functional specifications, and implements strategies based on operational needs analysis.
  • Evaluates, designs, builds, tests, and implements custom or vendor-supplied software and develops system-wide reports.
  • Maintains production systems to ensure reliable performance.
  • Prepares complete unit, system, and integrated test plans and test methodologies.
  • Provides day-to-day operations support to customers as required.
  • Coordinates efforts between stakeholders to gather requirements, develop technical specifications, and test enhancements.
  • Identifies data integrity issues and analyzes data and process flows for improvement opportunities.
  • Performs data analysis to extract requirements, identify inaccuracies, and ensure accurate processing and reporting.
  • Identifies policies and requirements that drive specific solutions.
  • Works effectively on project teams and meets deadlines according to project manager's expectations.
  • Builds, tests, and maintains integration points with revenue cycle and clinical solutions.
  • Provides ongoing 24x7 application support and troubleshoots problems as they arise.
  • Evaluates, approves, and delivers requested system changes in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Implements and follows internal IT break/fix and change management processes.
  • Follows policies regarding confidentiality and privacy in compliance with IT standards and regulatory practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent experience with 3+ years' direct experience working with large scale enterprise information systems.
  • 3-5 years experience designing, implementing, and supporting solutions within areas of the revenue cycle including patient access, health information management, revenue integrity, patient accounting/billing, and/or finance.
  • 3-5 years experience working in a healthcare-related field.
  • Practical experience with project delivery and systems development life cycles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Project Management with experience in healthcare systems.
  • 3+ years of Cerner Millenium experience.
  • Prior experience with patient financial services, patient access, and/or health information systems.
