About the position

The Cerner Revenue Cycle System Analyst (Charge Specialist) plays a crucial role in supporting the business solutions within the Revenue Cycle solutions portfolio at Nicklaus Children's Hospital. This position involves assessing, planning, developing, designing, implementing, enhancing, maintaining, and supporting various solutions related to Scheduling, Registration, Charge Services/Revenue Integrity, Health Information Management, Patient Accounting, and Finance/General Ledger. The analyst will work closely with users and IT personnel to ensure effective system performance and user satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Assist users and IT personnel with training and development of user documentation.
  • Develop system design, including functional specifications, and implement strategies based on operational needs analysis.
  • Evaluate, design, build, test, and implement custom or vendor-supplied software and develop system-wide reports.
  • Maintain production systems to ensure reliable performance.
  • Prepare complete unit, system, and integrated test plans and methodologies.
  • Provide day-to-day operations support to customers as required.
  • Coordinate efforts between stakeholders to gather requirements, develop technical specifications, and test enhancements.
  • Identify data integrity issues and analyze data and process flows for improvement opportunities.
  • Perform data analysis to extract requirements, identify inaccuracies, and ensure accurate processing and reporting.
  • Work effectively on project teams and meet deadlines according to project manager's expectations.
  • Provide ongoing 24x7 application support and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
  • Implement and follow internal IT break/fix and change management processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences/Information Systems/Business or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years' direct experience working with large scale enterprise information systems.
  • 3-5 years experience designing, implementing, and supporting solutions within revenue cycle areas such as patient access, health information management, and patient accounting/billing.
  • 3-5 years experience in a healthcare-related field.
  • Practical experience with project delivery and systems development life cycles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Project Management.
  • 3+ years of Cerner Millenium experience.
  • Prior experience with patient financial services, patient access, and/or health information systems.
