About the position

The position supports the business solutions within the Revenue Cycle Front-End portfolio, primarily focusing on Cerner Scheduling, with secondary focuses on Cerner Registration and Cerner Charge Services. The role involves assessing, planning, developing, designing, implementing, enhancing, maintaining, and supporting these solutions using various technologies.

Responsibilities

• Assist users and IT personnel with training and development of user documentation.
• Develop system design, including functional specifications, and implement strategies based on operational needs analysis.
• Evaluate, design, build, test, and implement custom or vendor-supplied software and develop system-wide reports.
• Maintain production systems to ensure reliable performance.
• Prepare complete unit, system, and integrated test plans and test methodologies.
• Provide day-to-day operations support to customers as required.
• Coordinate efforts between stakeholders to gather requirements, develop technical specifications, and test enhancements.
• Identify data integrity issues and analyze data and process flows for improvement opportunities.
• Perform data analysis to extract requirements, identify inaccuracies, and ensure accurate processing and reporting.
• Identify policies and requirements that drive specific solutions.
• Work effectively on project teams and meet deadlines according to project manager's expectations.
• Build, test, and maintain integration points with revenue cycle and clinical solutions.
• Provide ongoing 24x7 application support and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
• Evaluate, approve, and deliver requested system changes with stakeholders.
• Implement and follow internal IT break/fix and change management processes.
• Follow MCHS policy and procedures regarding confidentiality and privacy, in compliance with IT standards and regulatory practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent experience with 3+ years' direct experience working with large scale enterprise information systems.
• 3-5 years experience designing, implementing, and supporting solutions within areas of the revenue cycle including patient access, health information management, revenue integrity, patient accounting/billing, and/or finance.
• 3-5 years experience working in a healthcare-related field.
• Practical experience with project delivery and systems development life cycles.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Project Management with experience implementing and maintaining complex systems in a healthcare environment.
• 3+ years of Cerner Millenium experience.
• Prior experience with patient financial services, patient access, and/or health information systems.
