About the position

The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant at Family Circle of Care plays a crucial role in assisting with patient care under the direction of healthcare providers. This full-time position involves preparing treatment rooms, collecting specimens, administering medications, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The role emphasizes quality patient service and effective communication within the care team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients and places instruments and equipment appropriately.
  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
  • Collects specimens under the direction of the physician, including phlebotomy.
  • Administers specific medications and immunizations as directed.
  • Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
  • Cleans, stocks, and maintains exam rooms and procedure rooms.
  • Follows procedures for obtaining physician approval on refills and documents changes in the electronic medical system.
  • Proactively assists the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider as requested.
  • Attends and completes required meetings and in-service training.
  • Participates in the CPI program for continuous quality improvement and risk management.
  • Maintains compliance with state and federal laws and regulations relevant to the position.
  • Participates in team huddles to promote clear communication among the care team and treating provider.
  • Provides quality patient service by rooming patients in a timely manner.
  • Assists with patient flow through the clinic.
  • Interviews patients to obtain necessary information and accurately communicates this in the electronic medical record system.
  • Measures vital signs and records information in patients' charts.
  • Schedules appointments, tests, and laboratory services, ensuring effective use of clinical hours.
  • Assists providers with patient-related calls, including giving results.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1-2 years' experience in a medical professional environment required.
  • Valid Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • CPR Certification, renewed every two years.
