About The Position

The Certified Application Counselor/Facilitated Enroller aids individuals and families in need of Healthcare Insurance. The Certified Application Counselor must be able to educate the consumer on selecting the best Healthcare Insurance available through the New York State of Health Marketplace.

Requirements

  • New York State of Health Application Counselor Certification.
  • NYS valid driver's license.
  • Experience with customer service.
  • Computer literacy is required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all clients and patients are screened for insurance eligibility.
  • Promote and explain the Affordable Care Act.
  • Engage with the community and collaborate with all community-based agencies.
  • Conduct outreach in the community and attend health fair events.
  • Explain the process for enrolling in Medicaid, Essential Plans, Child Health Plus, and Qualified Health Plans.
  • Demonstrate compassion and be sensitive to working with low-income and ethnic minority community members.
