About the position
The Certified Diagnostic Electrician-Power Distribution at Freeport-McMoRan is a highly skilled role focused on the maintenance and repair of industrial electrical and instrumentation equipment. This position is essential for maximizing production efficiency and ensuring safety in operations. The electrician will also mentor and train other employees, contributing to a collaborative and safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Complete routine and non-routine repairs and construction safely.
- Provide leadership in safety, environmental practices, mentoring, cost control, project management, and proactive maintenance management processes.
- Mentor and train new employees and apprentices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Five years of experience in industrial electrical and/or instrumentation repair and maintenance.
- Qualified under the company certification process.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Completion of academic and practical competencies required for the position.
Nice-to-haves
- High School diploma or GED.
- Experience with VFDs, PLC, HMI, and/or SCADA Control Systems.
- Experience working with low and medium voltages.
- Experience with AC and/or DC controls.
- Experience with instrumentation devices.
- Experience with diagnostic electrical test equipment.
- Experience with HVAC equipment.
