About the position

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a part-time Certified Fetal Echo Sonographer to join their Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic in The Woodlands, TX. This role involves performing professional level assessments and non-invasive studies using ultrasound technology to provide care for high-risk expectant mothers and their babies. The sonographer will work collaboratively with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care and maintain high standards of patient confidentiality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform professional level assessments and non-invasive studies using ultrasound technology.
• Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations and explain procedures to ensure cooperation and optimum test results.
• Conduct ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and record anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for physician interpretation.
• Assist physicians during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and manage patient charts and records effectively.
• Code services performed and submit completed billing worksheets daily.
• Notify Patient Service Associate of additional services requiring authorization.
• Maintain proper operation of ultrasound equipment and address any malfunctions appropriately.
• Maintain adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies and archives/records of scans.
• Participate in staff development and professional development activities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in fetal echo sonography.
• Current/valid certification in diagnostic ultrasound.
• Completion of an Allied Health Educational Program and on-the-job training in ultrasonography, or an approved ultrasonography educational program.
• Current fetal echo certification and eligibility for certification from the American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
• Evidence of continuing education credits to fulfill accreditation requirements.
