About the position

The Director of Facility Capital Projects at Valley Hope is a pivotal role that focuses on the strategic management and oversight of facility projects across multiple locations. This position is essential for developing and implementing long-term strategies for the maintenance, renovation, and improvement of facilities to meet both current and future needs. The Director will ensure that facilities planning aligns with the organization's objectives and priorities, contributing to the overall mission of providing compassionate care and support to patients and their families in addiction treatment and recovery. In this role, the Director will assist in the development of operating and capital budgets, ensuring the proper utilization of resources to complete projects in a timely manner while maintaining a focus on quality, safety, and fiscal stewardship. The Director will also work closely with the compliance and safety teams to investigate accidents or incidents, identifying causes and implementing corrective actions. A key responsibility will be to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies in facility management processes, serving as a strategic advisor to leadership in selecting contractors and managing relationships with external vendors for capital projects. The Director will establish and monitor preventative maintenance processes and programs, conducting regular facility inspections and audits to identify risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires active participation in problem-solving strategies, providing recommendations for utilities system upgrades and improvements to minimize downtime. Additionally, the Director will develop and maintain emergency response plans for various situations, oversee OSHA-related issues, and ensure that training exercises are conducted to maintain readiness and compliance with health and safety protocols. Overall, the Director of Facility Capital Projects will play a crucial role in ensuring that Valley Hope's facilities are safe, efficient, and conducive to providing high-quality care to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement long-term strategies for facility maintenance, renovation, and improvement.
  • Ensure facilities planning aligns with organizational objectives and priorities.
  • Assist with the development of operating and capital budgets and ensure proper resource utilization.
  • Assist compliance/safety team with investigations of accidents or incidents.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies in facility management processes.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership in selecting contractors and managing vendor relationships.
  • Establish and monitor preventative maintenance processes and facility inspection processes.
  • Implement, monitor, and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled facility inspections and audits to identify risks and maintenance needs.
  • Participate in problem-solving strategies and provide recommendations for utilities system upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans for various situations.
  • Oversee follow-up on OSHA-related issues and citations.
  • Collaborate with facility leadership to ensure compliance with training and drills.
  • Stay updated on standards to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Seven (7) plus years of experience in facilities project management with multi-site responsibilities.
  • Five (5) plus years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Three (3) plus years of relevant experience in healthcare settings.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in facilities management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Ten (10) plus years of experience in facilities project management.
  • Five (5) plus years of relevant experience in healthcare settings.
  • Certification(s) in facilities management (e.g., CFM) or related field.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
