MasTec Civil is currently seeking skilled Crane Operators to join our team in Miami, FL. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating a Crawler/Lattice Boom Crane with a capacity of up to 300 tons and hold an NCCCO certification. This position is critical in our heavy construction projects, where the Crane Operator will perform a variety of tasks that may require transitioning from one task to another based on workflow demands. The Crane Operator is expected to operate under the supervision of a Lift Director and collaborate with crews on various types of cranes, including All Terrain, Rough Terrain, Mobile Crawlers, Hydraulic Cranes, and Boom Trucks. The role involves working on heavy civil, roadway, and bridge construction projects, which may include pile driving, beam erection, demolition, concrete construction, and steel erection, among other heavy lifting activities. In this position, the Crane Operator must maintain compliance with OSHA standards, particularly Subpart CC, which governs cranes and derricks in construction. Effective communication is essential, as the operator must follow instructions accurately and respond to radio commands and ASME B30.5 Standard Hand Signals for Mobile Crane Operations. Daily inspections of machines and equipment are required, along with performing routine maintenance and minor repairs. The operator will also be responsible for maintaining visual and radio contact with ground operators, ensuring safety regulations are adhered to, and providing support to other crane operators as needed. The Crane Operator must demonstrate proficiency in load chart usage and crane setup, participate in lifting load planning, and ensure that all lifting operations are conducted safely and within the equipment's load limits. This role requires the ability to work various shifts in a team environment, where accountability for daily functions and communication with senior management is crucial. The operator will also be responsible for completing administrative paperwork, including daily crane inspection reports, and maintaining a thorough understanding of crane operation characteristics and safety protocols.
