About the position

The position involves assisting with the treatment and care of patients under the supervision of a physician or nurse, ensuring adherence to established standards and protocols. The role is integral to supporting patient health in a vibrant coastal community, focusing on excellence in care and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform Point of Care Testing and quality control.
• Perform EKGs as necessary and ensure positive patient identification.
• Utilize health information systems, including DHIN and Provider Portal, for insurance verification and eligibility.
• Follow protocols appropriate for the practice and complete office support tasks accurately and timely.
• Demonstrate proper technique in operating office equipment and maintain a clean/stocked patient care area.
• Assist nurses with patient preparation for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Prioritize tasks, demonstrate initiative, and seek out duties to assist staff.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and handle specimens using proper techniques.
• Use appropriate PPE and adhere to OSHA standards while performing duties.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Two years of medical/clinical experience or graduation from a Medical Assistant program.
• CPR/AED Certification.
• Ability to respond to and withstand crisis situations.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider or Instructor Certification.
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of basic computer programs.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patients and team members.
