About the position
The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a crucial role in supporting Physicians and Mid-level Providers within the Crystal Clinic Quickcare Department. This position involves a variety of clinical and administrative tasks aimed at ensuring efficient patient care and maintaining the clinic's operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain medical histories.
- Complete thorough documentation in EMR.
- Prepare injections and assist with procedures such as the application and removal of casts.
- Handle front desk phone calls and assist with patient inquiries.
- Monitor and communicate changes in patient conditions to licensed providers or nurses.
- Prepare EMR for new patients and ensure proper patient forms are complete and current.
- Initiate radiology order entry for physician approval.
- Maintain cleanliness of clinical areas and exam rooms, restocking supplies as needed.
- Assist in the daily office routine and provide backup coverage when necessary.
- Prepare laboratory requisitions and arrange for specimen transport.
Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program.
- One to two years of demonstrated experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
- Current Certification as a Medical Assistant required within six months of hire.
- BLS certification required within three months of hire.
Nice-to-haves
- Preferred certifications include AAMA CMA, AMT RMA, and NHA CCMA.
