Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)- Super Kids Mobile Clinic

About the position

We are searching for a Certified Medical Assistant (Mobile Clinic) — someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide clinical support for patients in the hospital’s various ambulatory settings promoting cost effective, age appropriate, safe, and high-quality family centered care. This person will be trained to drive one of our mobile vans or trucks to various locations in Houston to service patients.

Responsibilities

• Promotes customer service
• Ensures efficient patient flow
• Provide vaccinations to patients (understanding appropriate vaccination per age group)
• Drive the mobile vehicle to/from locations around Houston to provide care for patients
• Documents pertinent information in the medical record such as current immunizations, allergy status, vital signs, current medications, etc.
• Follows institutional and departmental policies and procedures regarding waive testing, quality controls, instrument calibrations, and maintenance, etc.
• Processes lab specimens and performs tests
• Reports result as written in applicable policies and procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Texas Driving License (active) - along with a clear driving record
• Technical diploma from a medical assisting or emergency medical technician program
• BLS American Heart Association certification are required
• Knowledge of medical terminology, medical assistant/outpatient care tasks, and customer service concepts
• Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, and operate basic medical equipment
• One of the following required: CCMA, CMA-AAM, EMT Certified, EMT-A, EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P, LIC PAR, NCMA, NRCMA, RMA

Nice-to-haves

• Healthcare and pediatric experience preferred
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
• Pediatric vaccinations experience is highly preferred
