About the position

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at Axia Women's Health plays a crucial role in enhancing patient care by assisting with various medical tasks, maintaining patient records, and ensuring a smooth patient flow within the care center. This position is integral to delivering personalized healthcare services to women, supporting the mission of improving women's health across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain patient records by accurately recording medical history and vital statistics.
  • Check schedules and organize patient flow to minimize wait times.
  • Accompany patients to exam/procedure rooms and assist with walking transfers and dressing.
  • Collect patient history and assist Providers with various procedures and screenings.
  • Relay instructions to patients and families, providing pertinent information.
  • Send and receive patient medical records and obtain lab/X-ray reports.
  • Complete forms and requisitions to ensure accurate patient records and billing.
  • Set up instruments and equipment according to department protocols and maintain infection control.
  • Adhere to OSHA guidelines and standardized quality control methods.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current national certification such as RMA, CCMA, or NCMA required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant or documented internship experience preferred.
  • Experience with eClinical Works is a strong plus.
  • OB/GYN experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
