About the position

The Certified Medical Assistant at Park Family Practice plays a crucial role in assisting healthcare providers with patient examinations and treatments. This full-time position involves performing clinical duties, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and organized treatment environment. The role is essential for maintaining the efficiency of the practice and supporting patient care under the supervision of a physician or advanced practice provider.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider.
• Perform select clinical duties as supervised by a provider or registered nurse.
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts.
• Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
• Manage materials by ordering and stocking supplies.
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Document the provider's encounter with patients, including diagnoses and follow-up instructions.
• Transcribe patient orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.

Requirements

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
• BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date required.
• Medical Assistant certification obtained within 3 months of hire date required.
• Prior experience preferred in a medical assistant role or similar position.
• MA Certification and/or Registration in good standing through AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA.
