About the position
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers by assisting with office examinations and procedures, managing patient flow, and ensuring a high standard of patient care. Responsibilities
- Assist the provider in performing office examinations and procedures.
- Organize and manage clinic patient flow.
- Gather and document patient screening data.
- Perform in-office diagnostic testing such as X-rays and EKGs.
- Assist with patient and family education.
- Clean rooms and instruments, ensuring a sterile environment.
- Order and distribute medical supplies as needed.
- Schedule appointments and testing, triage phone calls and emails, and handle physician correspondence.
- Manage insurance referrals and assist with routine office procedures.
- Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1 year of relevant work experience as a medical assistant or in a healthcare setting.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
