Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating the patient's medical record prior to appointments.
• Complete pre-charting of all value-based pieces up to five days prior to the patient's appointment.
• Prepare patients for examination and escort them into the exam room, including taking vital signs and updating medical histories.
• Provide patient care services such as maintaining clean exam rooms and administering injections or immunizations as per state guidelines.
• Communicate and coordinate with providers regarding patient care and follow-up services.
• Participate in departmental activities and meetings, contributing to problem resolution and procedure analysis.
• Dispose of bio-hazardous waste and maintain inventory of medical supplies.
• Perform administrative tasks such as check-in and check-out functions.
• Suggest improvements to Practice Managers and Providers.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• Current certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited organization is required.
• Two years of experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
• Customer service experience is strongly preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification required within 60 days of hire.
