About the position
The Certified Microsoft .NET Web Developer -III position at Certec Consulting involves providing application development and maintenance support for the Department of Financial Institutions (DFI). The role requires expertise in .NET technologies and encompasses all aspects of the systems development life cycle (SDLC), including analysis, design, development, and implementation of automated solutions. The developer will also mentor junior developers and ensure compliance with DFI's application standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide application development and maintenance support activities for the department.
- Conduct analysis and design of complex new systems and enhancements to existing systems.
- Interview system clients to document existing systems and define new or revised system requirements.
- Prepare feasibility reports showing cost benefits of various alternatives and present them to clients and IT management.
- Create detailed project plans and estimates for design, programming, testing, and implementation tasks.
- Write functional requirements documents defining business and technical system requirements.
- Review detailed design specifications to assure integrity and accuracy.
- Write technical specifications for complex programs for team members to code.
- Analyze existing systems and modify as needed to improve performance.
- Respond to clients' needs for assistance and correct system production problems in a timely manner.
- Coordinate testing with operations and business staff and prepare documentation for programmers.
- Conduct training of clients and IT staff to ensure understanding of the application system.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience with ASP.NET Core and ASP.NET Web Forms.
- Strong UI design skills.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft .NET technologies such as C#, ASP.NET MVC, and Core.
- Expert knowledge of Web Services, JavaScript, CSS, Entity Framework, and AJAX.
- Working knowledge of SQL Server and Stored Procedures.
- Knowledge of systems development practices and principles.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies such as waterfall and agile.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification in relevant technologies is preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of Database Modeling/Design.
