About the position

The Nuclear Technologist position at our busy cardiology office in Suffolk County is a part-time role focused on providing high-quality care to patients undergoing nuclear medicine procedures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for explaining medical procedures to patients, ensuring they understand the process and addressing any questions or concerns they may have. This role requires strict adherence to safety protocols to protect both patients and staff from unnecessary radiation exposure. The Nuclear Technologist will prepare and administer radioactive drugs to patients, monitor for any unusual reactions, and operate imaging equipment to capture necessary diagnostic images. Additionally, maintaining detailed procedure records and following safety and disposal radiation procedures is essential to ensure compliance with health regulations. The position is scheduled for day shifts on Tuesdays and Fridays, with the possibility of covering for vacations. The candidate must be available to work in person and should possess the necessary qualifications, including ARRT (N) certification and a New York State license. Bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus but not mandatory. The role requires a minimum of one year of experience in nuclear medicine, and knowledge and certification in starting IVs are essential. The pay for this position is set at $50.00 per hour, reflecting the specialized skills and expertise required for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Explain medical procedures to patients and answer any questions they may have.

Requirements

  • ARRT (N) certification required.
