About the position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position at Bartlett Regional Hospital involves providing basic nursing care to patients under the supervision of a licensed RN. CNAs will work primarily in the Float Pool, supporting various units as needed, ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients. The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to adapt to different patient care needs across diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic nursing care to patients under the supervision of a licensed RN.
  • Support and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
  • Float to different units as needed to provide additional support.
  • Complete non-invasive collection and testing of physical specimens.
  • Perform basic nursing skills such as glucose testing, suctioning, and catheter removal.
  • Assist with patient monitoring and use of medical equipment.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.
  • Current State of Alaska Certified Nursing Assistant license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Completion of Behavioral Health Physical Intervention and Verbal De-escalation training within 90 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a CNA I or CNA II in a healthcare setting.
