About the position

The Parker Jewish Institute, located in New Hyde Park, New York, is seeking qualified Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our Nursing team in our skilled nursing facility. We want to speak with naturally caring, empathetic CNAs who are focused on providing the best quality of life possible for every patient in their care, with patience, courteousness and tactful interactions with residents, staff, family members and visitors. CNAs at Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation are responsible for performing personal care and assistance for our residents and patients. As a key member of Parker's care team, you will also report changes in the resident's condition, assist with admission and discharge of patients, and under the guidance of a licensed nurse, provide quality and compassionate care to the residents and patients of Parker. We put an emphasis on patient safety and staff work satisfaction. We have very high standards of care for patients and residents. Responsibilities

  • Perform personal care and assistance for residents and patients.
  • Report changes in the resident's condition.
  • Assist with admission and discharge of patients.
  • Provide quality and compassionate care under the guidance of a licensed nurse.

Requirements

  • Current and valid NYS CNA certification.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Recent, relevant experience working with the geriatric population is a plus; will hire newly certified CNAs.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Good interpersonal skills - both verbal and in writing.
  • Team player with a collaborative, team-based work environment.
