About the position

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) at Mary Free Bed plays a crucial role in providing routine personal care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Responsibilities

  • Perform routine basic patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Provide patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license, certification or registration.
  • Assist licensed personnel in the delivery of patient care.
  • Maintain a clean, safe patient and unit environment.
  • Report observations to the team leaders, including patient complaints and behavior.
  • Participate in patient care conferences, staff meetings, and nursing committees.
  • Follow documented policy and procedure in the delivery of patient care.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behavior.
  • Contribute to quality improvement by identifying problems and seeking solutions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Registry on the board of nursing as a Certified Nurse Aide.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an AHA approved provider.
  • Understanding of basic principles of human growth and development.
  • Reliable means of phone communication with the hospital.
