About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at SE Lincoln Family Medicine plays a crucial role in supporting physicians during examinations and procedures, ensuring quality patient care and customer service. This position involves direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Physician, or Advanced Practice Provider (APP), while adhering to organizational policies and maintaining compliance with licensure requirements.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalency required.
  • Active Nebraska Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required.
  • Six (6) months CNA experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Accompanies physicians with examinations and procedures to serve the medical needs of patients.
  • Coordinates the flow of patients, phone calls, lab work, and nurse visits to facilitate quality patient care.
  • Maintains flow of patients in accordance with time of appointment to avoid delays.
  • Keeps exam rooms clean, disinfected, and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Obtains vital signs, height, and weight, and prepares patients for visits.
  • Assists the medical provider with examinations and procedures under their direction.
  • Schedules outpatient tests and procedures at hospitals in a timely manner.
  • Schedules follow-up procedures/appointments and specialty appointments.
  • Updates patient demographics and immunization forms as needed.
  • Performs patient call processing as needed.
  • Assists with front desk duties as needed.
  • Recognizes and reacts to emergency procedures per role and policies/procedures.
  • Answers telephones and assigned communication devices and relays information as necessary.
  • Assists with patient care consistent with standards of care and clinical priorities.
  • Performs and documents routine direct nursing care tasks according to identified age-specific needs.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations.
  • Participates in meetings, committees, and department projects as assigned.
