About the position

The Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) position at Advanced Eye Centers involves providing support in a multi-specialty ophthalmology and optometry practice. The role is essential for ensuring exceptional patient care and customer service across multiple office locations in Southeastern Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will be motivated, self-starting, and possess the necessary skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assist ophthalmologists in patient care and clinical procedures.
  • Perform preliminary examinations and tests as directed by the physician.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure accurate documentation of patient interactions.
  • Provide education to patients regarding their eye health and treatment options.
  • Support the ophthalmology team in a variety of clinical tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Valid Certified Ophthalmic Assistant certification preferred.
  • Experience at the Ophthalmic Assistant level preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare with direct patient contact preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong professional and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish and Portuguese preferred.
  • Experience in a multi-specialty ophthalmology practice.
