About the position

As a Certified Payroll Specialist at RLH Fire Protection, Inc., you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submissions of certified payroll reports, which are essential for facilitating payments from customers and subcontractors. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of certified payroll processes to maintain the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and maintain precise employee records, including hours worked, benefits, and deductions, while accounting for prevailing wage rates.
  • Handle certified payroll tasks with precision, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Calculate wages, overtime, and any specialized construction-related compensations.
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in accordance with government agencies' standards.
  • Stay updated on prevailing wage rates, labor laws, and construction-specific payroll regulations.
  • Prepare and submit weekly Certified Payroll reports on LCP tracker and to the DIR.
  • Collect, review, analyze records and supporting documents for inaccuracies, errors, deficiencies, incompleteness, etc.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to gather necessary paperwork/information to ensure timely payments from contractors.
  • Issue requests for missing and revised documentation with contractor's staff to ensure compliance and payments.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of previous experience in Certified Payroll required.
  • Experience running certified payroll for Union employees preferred.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Labor Union, Prevailing Wage experience highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Davis Bacon Act.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Working knowledge of DIR standards and requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Drivers License.
