About the position

Adecco is seeking an experienced Certified Payroll Specialist, Payroll Administrator, or Union Payroll Specialist with union experience to join our client's team in Walnut Creek, CA. This is a 6-month assignment with potential for permanent placement. The role focuses on payroll compliance, labor regulations, and requires a passion for working in a union environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for 300+ union employees in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Input and manage certified payroll documentation, ensuring all records are accurate and timely.
  • Maintain labor compliance and certified payroll documents for various projects.
  • Perform payroll audits to identify discrepancies and ensure adherence to regulations.
  • Use Plexxas software for efficient payroll management (preferred but not required).
  • Minimize audits, fines, and penalties by reviewing payrolls for accuracy.
  • Stay informed on the latest California payroll laws and any regulatory changes.
  • Complete special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Certified Payroll Specialist, Union Payroll Administrator, or Payroll Specialist in a union setting.
  • Proven experience conducting payroll audits and ensuring compliance with union agreements.
  • Strong skills in critical thinking, document analysis, and payroll problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and other relevant software.
  • Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
