About the position

We are looking for a full-time EXPERIENCED Certified Payroll Specialist located in the Bakersfield, CA area. Established in 1999, Safety Network is a growing, family-owned Traffic Control company based out of the Central Valley. The Certified Payroll Specialist will play a crucial role in managing the processing of Certified Payroll, ensuring compliance with state regulations, including the California Labor Code, and timely submission of required documentation. This position requires a strong understanding of Certified Payroll requirements and regulations, particularly in the State of California, as well as experience with payroll systems such as QuickBooks and ADP. In this role, you will coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for Certified Payroll reporting, such as employee hours, rates, and classifications. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate calculation and payment of prevailing wages, overtime, and other required compensation. Maintaining accurate payroll records is essential, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and data privacy standards. The ideal candidate will contribute to the success of the company by upholding its core values of service, relationships, and character, demonstrating excellent organizational and communication skills, and paying attention to detail and accuracy in payroll and benefits processing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the processing of Certified Payroll, ensuring compliance with state regulations, including the California Labor Code, and timely submission of required documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of office experience
  • At least 3 years of experience completing Certified Payroll as main job responsibility
  • Experience working with QuickBooks and ADP
  • Strong knowledge of Certified Payroll requirements and regulations, particularly in the State of California
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in payroll and benefits processing
