About the position

The Certified Payroll Specialist will support projects that require certified payroll and adherence to prevailing wage laws. This role involves maintaining compliance systems, assisting with audits, and ensuring that subcontractors meet legal requirements related to payroll.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor certified payroll for both internal and subcontractor projects.
  • Gather and input employee pay and project hours for certified payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local certified payroll regulations.
  • Review payroll records, benefit statements, and apprenticeship paperwork for compliance.
  • Utilize DOL websites or software for Certified Payroll reporting.
  • Prepare Fringe Benefit Statements and liaise with project managers, HR, and operations.
  • Investigate complaints of noncompliance and monitor any changes in payroll laws.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience as a Certified Payroll & Labor Compliance Specialist.
  • Proficient in prevailing wage reporting systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Labor Compliance policies, including the Davis-Bacon Act.
  • Experience performing payroll audits and calculating fines/penalties.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
