About the position

The Certified Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements in accordance with federal, state, and local laws. This role supports the payroll function and involves coordinating with various personnel, performing payroll reporting, and managing audits related to certified payroll submissions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local prevailing wage laws
• Review job startup packages for certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements
• Coordinate and interface with both internal and external personnel
• Calculate prevailing wage rates, fringe benefits, and compliance with wage determination letters
• Submit compliance documentation to relevant agencies or systems
• Perform payroll reporting, filing, maintenance, and data entry
• Analyze and recommend best practices for certified payroll policies and procedures
• Assist with research for bid preparations relating to payroll laws
• Manage Department of Labor and client certified payroll audits
• Audit subcontractor certified payroll submissions
