The Certified Payroll Specialist at ACCO Engineered Systems plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of certified payroll data under the guidance of the Certified Payroll Manager. This position involves a variety of administrative duties related to certified payroll, including the processing of weekly payroll, auditing and reporting prevailing wages, and maintaining certified payroll job folders. The specialist will also be responsible for providing customer support to both prime contractors and subcontractors regarding certified payroll inquiries, ensuring that all parties are informed and compliant with project requirements. In addition to payroll processing, the Certified Payroll Specialist will handle the distribution of subcontractor certified payroll and assist with the start-up paperwork necessary for certified payroll. The role requires monitoring emails for contract information, calculating restitution checks as needed, and maintaining project details in Smartsheet. The specialist will also assist with Union Reports and Status Letters, ensuring that all payroll distributions are completed accurately and on time. General office duties such as filing and copying will also be part of the responsibilities, along with any other tasks assigned by the Certified Payroll Manager. This position demands a proactive approach, as the specialist must recognize what needs to be done and accomplish tasks with minimal supervision. The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously is essential. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary to effectively interact with team members and external stakeholders.
