Certified Payroll Specialist

About the position

The Certified Payroll Specialist is responsible for preparing and filing certified payroll reports, responding to union requests, maintaining appropriate documentation, and preparing and filing other union reports. This position will also support other accounting and payroll functions as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit project certified payroll reports in compliance with contract requirements.
• Prepare and submit other union reports in compliance with contract requirements.
• Research payroll-related issues to ensure timely, accurate reporting.
• Prepare monthly union reconciliations, research discrepancies, and prepare payment remittances.
• Prepare and assist in audit requests.
• Maintain electronic filing systems in a logical manner.
• Work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, equivalent years of related experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of three years of payroll experience, preferably in construction or public works.
• Experience with multistate payroll, federal and state certified payrolls, and union reporting.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
• Experience working for a large company, or another Native Corporation preferred.
• CostPoint and Viewpoint Spectrum or other integrated software experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a drug, background, reference, and credit check.
