About the position

Pathway Group has partnered with a Construction firm in the Orange County, CA area to offer an excellent opportunity for a Certified Payroll Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a background in the construction industry, with a preference for experience in in-house payroll. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and time management skills. The Certified Payroll Specialist will be responsible for monitoring certified payroll for both internal self-perform projects and external subcontractors. This includes maintaining all necessary forms for the project such as DAS-140, DAS-142, exemption letters, DAS-7, contractor's authorization to certify payrolls, fringe benefit statements, CPR, statements of compliance, statements of non-performance, and contractors' monthly reports to trustees, as well as ensuring compliance with the Skilled and Trained Workforce requirements. The position involves certified payroll preparation, review, and generating XML reports for upload through LCP Tracker labor compliance software. The specialist will also maintain the company labor compliance log with daily updates and upload CPR and documentation to various labor compliance reporting programs such as Prism Compliance Management and LCP Tracker. Periodic audits on projects will be performed to ensure compliance, and the specialist will monitor labor compliance emails to identify urgent issues. Additionally, the role requires reviewing and verifying payroll records, fringe benefits, employer training contributions, and apprenticeship certificates to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations, as well as reviewing all public works special requirements. Other related duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor certified payroll for both internal self-perform projects and external subcontractors.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of certified payroll experience is required.
  • Knowledge of Prevailing Wage & Davis Bacon laws.
  • Experience using LCP Tracker.
  • Ability to work independently and accurately.
  • Experience with Vista Viewpoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Strong work ethic - willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done correctly.
