About the position

The Certified Peer Recovery Coach/Community Liaison plays a crucial role in the Outpatient MAT Opioid Treatment Program, focusing on supporting individuals recovering from Opioid Use Disorder. This position involves breaking down barriers to treatment, facilitating access to resources, and promoting long-term recovery through personal experience and community engagement. The role emphasizes collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance treatment access for marginalized populations and to advocate for patients' needs.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and implement the core values, principles, and tasks of the Peer Recovery Coach.
  • Role model respect, trust, sensitivity, and confidentiality to patients, volunteers, and colleagues.
  • Provide support and promote healthy relationships among patients.
  • Advocate for patients in receiving timely and coordinated services.
  • Offer support during transitions as needed or requested.
  • Collaborate with individuals, team members, family, and caregivers.
  • Support navigation of systems both internally and externally.
  • Promote self-advocacy and independence among patients.
  • Explore possibilities, choices, skill building, and goal-setting with patients.
  • Facilitate overcoming barriers with patients.
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings with local community organizations to address barriers to accessing MAT/OTP services.
  • Lead and contribute to community conversations around removing stigma of MAT.
  • Order collateral and promotional marketing items for outreach.
  • Write timely reports following community meetings to share insights with the Clinic Director and Regional Director.
  • Build effective partnerships to facilitate engagement and outreach for MAT services.
  • Participate in tabling events, conferences, and speaking engagements to promote CTC Division.
  • Track all meetings and communications with referrals in Salesforce.
  • Assist in content creation for social media to promote OTP services.
  • Interface with communities and represent the OTP at various meetings and events to improve education and access to MAT services.
  • Identify agency barriers and suggest solutions to encourage resolutions and follow-up meetings.
  • Meet with other OTP Liaisons to share planning activities and avoid duplication of efforts.
  • Perform general administrative duties as assigned and participate in supervision activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • Direct experience in the substance abuse field through personal life experiences, instruction/internship, or similar practicum through education or certification process.
  • Tennessee Peer Recovery Coach Certification required or commitment to obtain within 90 days of hire.
