About the position

The Certified Peer Specialist will play a crucial role in providing support and rehabilitation services to clients with severe and persistent mental illnesses. This position involves assessing client needs, developing treatment plans, and advocating for clients while working under the supervision of a team leader and psychiatrist. The role includes conducting group counseling, teaching coping skills, and assisting clients in utilizing community resources.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, and develop treatment and rehabilitation services for clients with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
  • Advocate for clients and assist them with the WRAP workbook and coping skills development.
  • Support and guide Peer Support services in an outpatient setting.
  • Conduct group counseling sessions and provide assistance with community resources.
  • Transport clients as needed.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Peer Specialist (CPS)/CARES in the state of Georgia.
