About the position
The Certified Peer Support Specialist role at Team Wellness Center involves utilizing personal lived experiences with mental illness and/or substance abuse to support and advocate for individuals in recovery. The position focuses on encouraging engagement with treatment and modeling recovery techniques to help others navigate their own recovery journeys. This part-time position offers the opportunity to work directly with clients in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Advocate for individuals starting or continuing their recovery journey.
- Encourage clients to remain engaged with their treatment plans.
- Model recovery techniques and demonstrate the benefits of comprehensive care including primary care, psychiatric support, and social services.
- Provide support and mentorship to clients based on personal recovery experiences.
Requirements
- Certified Peer Support Specialist certification (Required)
- Driver's License (Required)
- 1 year of experience in behavioral health or related field
- Experience in addiction counseling, crisis management, and case management.
