About the position

The Certified Pharmacy Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring guest satisfaction and the efficient operation of the pharmacy. Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, the technician is responsible for handling prescriptions, maintaining patient confidentiality, and managing inventory, all while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge, greet, and engage guests upon entering the pharmacy.
• Build a reputation for ultimate guest service.
• Handle prescriptions, including counting, labeling, and reconstituting as needed.
• Manage inventory and medication therapy management as allowed by state law.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling patient records.
• Mail out prescriptions and manage guest charge and delivery records.
• Handle phone calls to and from provider's offices and guests within the scope of practice.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED), or actively working towards it for no more than two years.
• Active and in good standing pharmacy technician license issued by the Board of Pharmacy in the practicing state(s).
• Must maintain required continuing education and renew license as required by the State Board.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays as required.
• Experience in retail pharmacy is a plus.
• Knowledge of pharmacy-related law is essential.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the job including bending, squatting, lifting, climbing, standing, and walking for 8-12 hours.
• Ability to function as a team member and get along with others.
• Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits, and attitude.
