About the position

Join our team as a PRN Pharmacy Technician (PhT) in Westwood, NJ. In this role, you will be an integral part of our pharmacy team, working under the supervision of a pharmacist to assist in the technical and non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring the smooth operation of pharmacy services within our 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital. Our hospital features a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU, all of which require the support of dedicated pharmacy professionals like you. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining competency in the compounding of sterile IV medications, ensuring that all preparations meet the highest standards of safety and efficacy. You will also assist in various pharmacy operations, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our services. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the technical, non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Participate as a reliable and punctual member of the pharmacy team.
  • Maintain competency in the compounding of sterile IV medications.
  • Assist in pharmacy operations as required.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • 2+ years of previous hospital pharmacy technician experience (inclusive of training programs).
  • Completion of sterile compounding training/competency (as required by State BOP).
  • Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy, if required by state of employment.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
  • Current BLS certification.
