You will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy, ensuring that all facilities and equipment are in optimal condition to promote health and safety for both patients and staff. Your ability to adjust priorities based on changing work demands will be essential in this fast-paced setting. You will assist in interpreting and entering medication orders into the pharmacy computer system, clarifying any unclear orders with pharmacists or nurses. This includes accepting verbal non-controlled prescription orders and facilitating transfers between pharmacies. Your attention to detail will be critical as you enter patient information, generate labels, and consult with pharmacists on clinical prompts. Additionally, you will follow up with healthcare providers to ensure that all necessary medications and supplies are provided for patient care. Filling, labeling, and packaging medications accurately will be a significant part of your responsibilities. You will maintain workflow efficiency and restock medications as needed. Customer service is paramount; you will handle transactions at the out-window, ensuring compliance with identification requirements and providing counsel on new prescriptions and over-the-counter products. Training new personnel and maintaining inventory levels will also be part of your duties, ensuring that the pharmacy is stocked with essential pharmaceuticals and supplies. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with registration as State Certified with the SC Board of Pharmacy.
