About the position

The Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) at Erlanger Health System is responsible for assisting pharmacists in medication preparation and distribution, ensuring compliance with safety and control standards. This part-time, PRN position requires knowledge of pharmacy operations, including aseptic preparation of IV admixtures and inventory management, while providing excellent customer service to patients and healthcare staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in medication preparation and distribution.
• Perform aseptic preparation of IV admixtures, including chemotherapy agents.
• Fill and distribute medications using various methods, including automated systems.
• Maintain adequate inventory for daily operations of various Pharmacy areas.
• Prepare stock orders and ensure compliance with safety and control concepts.
• Accurately process patient medication orders and billing adjustments.
• Perform specialized Narcotic Distribution and Storeroom duties.
• Utilize hospital computer systems and pharmacy interfaces effectively.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Active Certified Pharmacy Technician license required.
• Ability to obtain Tennessee State Pharmacy License within 60 days of employment.
• 1 year of pharmacy experience preferred.
• National Certification required.
• Computer literacy and proficiency in pharmacy computer systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate's degree in Pharmacy Technology preferred.
• IV Training Certificate preferred.
