About the position

The Certified Pharmacy Technician at Regional One Health's Newborn Center is responsible for performing various technical functions related to the preparation, packaging, and distribution of pharmaceuticals. This role involves ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications to patients, particularly in a newborn care setting, while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and package pharmaceuticals for distribution.
• Perform IV admixtures and ensure proper drug distribution.
• Maintain accurate records of pharmaceuticals and controlled substances.
• Fill patient medication orders and manage inventory control.
• Interact with computer systems for medication management.
• Communicate effectively with hospital staff, patients, and physicians.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician program or equivalent education.
• One year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician or in patient care.
• Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician and a valid TN Pharmacy Tech License.
• Excellent mathematical skills for pharmaceutical preparation and distribution.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication in various situations.
